DOES GOD PROTECT US FROM TEMPTATION AND SIN?
Did God protect Job? Did God intervene when David lusted after Bathsheba? Did God protect Uriah from being killed on the battlefield per David’s order? I could go on and on. As Believers, we are no longer slaves to sin. That means we are now able to choose to obey (or disobey) God, whereas before being saved, the Enemy owned us and we were his slaves ("slaves to sin). Having accepted Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior and being made spiritually NEW, we are no longer the Enemy’s slaves. Hallelu-YAH!!!
TRUTH: God does not “make us” obey. No. The new creation we ARE, does not make us into robots. Obedience is OUR CHOICE.
God sent Jesus to save us (Jesus bought us back from Satan so we are now owned by God). Jesus is God’s Great GIFT. God offers His Gift to ALL . . . as He does not wish that any of us should perish. However, it’s UP TO US to ACCEPT God’s Gift. Even God’s Gift requires ACTION on our part.
Day by day I am utterly amazed by comments posted by those claiming to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Discovering they believe God protects them from SIN and from what the Enemy HAS THE ABILITY TO AFFLICT ONTO them. These “spiritual sleepers” believe their CHRISTIAN LIFE IS GOD-CONTROLLED. How can we have personal relationship and not spend time getting to know and obey God??? God does not protect His Children from the evil traps the Enemy sets for each of us . . . DOES NOT.
TRUTH: God does not/will not control anyone . . . EVER. He did not force us to accept His Gift of Salvation. He will not force us to go to Church. He will not make us read and study His Word. He will not force us to forgive those who have wronged us . He will not make us eat healthy. He will not force us to stop looking at the porn on the computer. The list goes on and on.

The fact that there are 1,050 “orders” given in the New Testament alone means there are lots of things WE MUST DO – not God.
Ephesians 5:14-16 KJV “Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. 15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
Wake up those of you who sleep! Those who believe God protects you from temptation, sin and the Enemy’s traps. This is a lie of the Enemy . . . he wants to sift you like wheat just like he did Peter.
TRUTH: When we make wrong choices/sin, God does not protect us from the consequence.
Therefore, if you continue in sexual sin, it is almost a certainty you will end up with an STD. Some STDs are curable, while others are not. Some are even deadly. God DOES NOT PROTECT us from the consequences of our sin just because we have accepted Jesus. When we repent, ask forgiveness and turn away from a sexual sin (or whatever sin) we are without a doubt FORGIVEN. However, the STD obtained as a result of the sexual sin REMAINS!
Remember that WILLFUL, CONTINUAL SIN (unrepentant) is what creates an opening in the hedge of protection God places around us at the time of our Salvation. That “opening” gives LEGAL RIGHT for Satan and his evil minions to DEMONIZE us AT WILL, which includes but is not limited to: ALL kinds of addiction (alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, food, gambling, smoking, shopping, prescription drugs, work, etc.), acts born out of compulsion, anxiety, depression, control and abuse((physical, sexual, verbal/emotional, mental/psychological, cultural/identity), despair, suicidal thoughts, inability to concentrate, sickness/disease, mental disorders, sleep disorders, financial trouble, relationship issues (spouse, family, friends), infidelity, fornication, perfectionism, etc. This is why there are Believers (Christians) walking around in these kind of conditions! THEY NEED DELIVERANCE!
2 Peter 2:20 “For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome (again practicing sin), the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.”
Why is it worse? Because they have been swept clean of ALL demons and evil spirits the moment they accepted Christ. If they return to their old master and once again practice sin, this allows Satan and/or any of his evil minions to come and go AT WILL. LEGAL RIGHT.
2 Timothy 2:26 "And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him AT HIS WILL."
As Christians, we have an advocate with the Father, who is Jesus. He pleads our case before God when Satan (the Accuser of the Brethren) accuses us before God “day and night.” Jesus defends our “salvation” as it does not depend on how “good” we are – not any of our good works – ONLY GRACE. That is where Satan’s legal case falls apart in the courtroom of Heaven. However, Jesus does not protect us from ourselves (a/k/a our free will).

WAKE UP! MAY GOD RESTORE YOUR SPIRITUAL SIGHT! Stop hiding behind the lies the Enemy has deceived you to believe. YOU have allowed these lies (thoughts) to take root in your life! YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT HAPPENS IN YOUR LIFE; even after you accept Christ as your personal Savior. To combat Satan's lies we must bring everything erroneous thought/belief into alignment with God's Word:

2 Corinthians 10:4-6 “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought (take every thought captive) to the obedience of Christ; 6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

If you are guilty of erroneously believing our Christian Walk is a “cake walk” and that we just sit back and let God do it all, there is HOPE!! Amen! Follow these steps for restoration:
1) RECOGNIZE (admit) the sin (1 John 1:9; Proverbs 28:13; Psalm 32:5; Leviticus 5:5);
2) REPENT (take responsibility) for the action to God and others (Acts 3:19);
3) RENOUNCE the sin as dead works [dead works are such works as deserve death: "dead in trespasses, dead in sins, dead by sentence of the law" - because of breaking the law] (Hebrews 6:1-2; Romans 6:23; 1 John 3:4);
4) RECLAIM authority through Jesus' Blood (Matthew 26:28; Ephesians 1:7; Ephesians 2:13, Leviticus 17:11); and
5) RESIST the sin (James 4:7) and REFUSE to do it again!!
Rejoice in your freedom and, from what you have learned, restore others to wholeness. Amen!!
